It Starts with our Principal: Shully Braunstein
Our Sympaticare Principal, Shully Braunstein, is someone who cares for others, and has for many years. His commitment to exceptional elder care continues today through his ventures with Sympaticare. Shully Braunstein’s mission is to provide our elders with the absolute highest standard of care.
Braunstein’s journey with eldercare runs deep; and it’s exactly why his commitment to caring for those who care for others is mirrored through Sympaticare’s mission.
Why Nursing Home Ownership with Sympaticare Stands Out
To put it frankly, with Sympaticare, it’s personal.
Braunstein first realized his commitment to elder care at a young age, when at just 10 years old, Shully went to live with his aging grandmother, as she needed caretaking. It was during this time that Shully discovered his patience, passion, and long-term desire to care for the elderly. Since then, Shully has come to love and appreciate the wisdom, stories, and life experiences that elders have to share.
Humble Beginnings to Now
In 2011, Shully Braunstein became a New York State licensed administrator. Shully currently operates a total of 6 nursing facilities across New York State. During his time working with these facilities, each has seen significant increases in care ratings and quality measures.
Shully began his career working in and experiencing various departments within a nursing home. He started in the activities department which helped him understand how valuable stimulation is to the residents of the nursing home. This experience taught him that without stimulation, residents are prone to deterioration. Shully later worked in the housekeeping and laundry departments of a 240-bed nursing home, and became quickly aware of the challenges these departments faced.
He was quick to develop solutions then, and even today, the well-run housekeeping and laundry departments in his own facilities reflect his lessons of the past.
