More than Just a Number in Senior Care: The Sympaticare Difference

When it comes to dignified and successful senior care, Sympaticare takes the lead to raise the standard by maintaining a personalized, small-business, and community-focused vision.

Currently in the United States, large-scale and impersonal nursing home corporations house over half of our nation’s elders. For our most vulnerable population, this often means being an overlooked number and not receiving the quality of care they need and deserve.

More than Just a Number in Senior Care: The Sympaticare Difference
At Sympaticare, our residents are more than just a number.

In this blog post, we will explain how we offer personalized senior care through a small nursing home business model, all while staying community-focused.

Personalized Senior Care

Our senior care management company strives to provide the most individualized senior care to its residents. Our goal is that each resident can participate to the fullest with their plan of care, which means a resident can give insight into what truly motivates them to maintain an independent life.

With personalized care, our seniors can participate as the most important asset to their own success. When the elderly can voice their needs, desires, and emotions about aging in a nursing facility, their ability to thrive may drastically improve.

In contrast, when a person is confined to a lifestyle that bears little resemblance to their life before living in a nursing facility, their desire to engage in activities may dissipate which could lead to depression, poor eating habits, and an overall decline in their health.

Small-Scale Nursing Home Business Models

Your loved ones should be treated as more than just a number when it comes to receiving the quality of senior care they deserve. As the principal of Sympaticare, Shully Braunstein believes in building locally-owned, small-scale senior care centers with a personal approach.

Although our facilities are smaller in theory, our residents don't have to compromise when it comes to amenities, the level of care they receive, or the internal community. Our small-scale nursing homes feel more like "home" than larger senior care facilities. In addition, our senior care management company is able to provide a higher staff per resident ratio and offer personalized attention to our residents. There's no compromising here.

Community Focused Nursing Homes

When it comes time to enter senior care, isolation and loneliness are often feared, especially when they’ve been an active member of their community their entire lives. Our elder care management company knows how important it is for your loved ones to remain integrated and connected within their local community. That’s why our facilities take a community-focused approach to senior care.

Whether it’s a day spent out on the town, or bringing the community to our residents, we strive to remain connected within our local communities. Not only that, but our senior care facilities excel at fostering their own unique, thriving communities.

Some ways our nursing homes stay community-focused include:

  • Field trips to local attractions

  • Volunteer programs

  • Host entertainers or have concerts

  • Invite youth groups

  • Partner with local colleges/universities

  • Clubs and activities

  • Awards ceremonies

  • Open houses

  • Community bulletin boards

  • Sponsor educational programs

  • Family-centered activities

  • Shopping trips

About Shully Braunstein, LNHA

Shully Braunstein is the principal of Sympaticare and a New York State Licensed Administrator. His number one goal is to provide his residents with the absolute highest standard of care. Shully currently operates a total of 6 senior care facilities across New York, each of which has seen significant increases in care ratings and quality measures since his leadership. Shully has extensive experience working in various departments of a nursing home. He started in the activities department, which helped him understand how valuable stimulation is to the nursing home residents. This experience taught him that without stimulation, residents are prone to deterioration. Shully later worked in the housekeeping and laundry departments of a 240-bed nursing home and became quickly aware of the challenges these departments face. He was quick to develop solutions then, and even today, the well-run housekeeping and laundry departments in his own facilities reflect his lessons of the past.
